Unconference sessions at TKF

Part of this year’s TKF will be a bit unusual in that we are planning to hold a set of concurrent Unconference sessions on Day 2 of TKF from 9-12.

An “Unconference” is an ad-hoc set of sessions based on the interests of those attending. These are really facilitated group conversations, generally involving those with interest or expertise in that topic. The main advantage is to bring people together around a common topic who would not normally be able to otherwise do so.

We are soliciting topics of interest for these sessions ahead of time to make the sessions run smoothly but also make sure that those with subject matter expertise (where needed) can be there as well. If you have a topic in mind that interests you, please let us know at unconference.tkf@utoronto.ca. We’re also looking for facilitators for the sessions — remember that you don’t need to be a subject matter expert to facilitate, and you’ll meet a lot of awesome people in the process.

The updated set of topics will be posted on the TKF web site under the Unconference section.

Have a great TechKnowFile!
